SBU blocks activity of office of pro-Kremlin hackers in Kyiv

SBU officers in cooperation with the Prosecutor General's Office uncovered the activity of the office of the pro-Kremlin hackers in Kyiv.

The SBU operatives established that the FSB-controlled hacker group organized cyberattacks on the critical infrastructure facilities, state and banking institutions. The hackers used the message anonymization services to cover the identification of the offenders.

The SBU officers also documented that the offenders involved in the so-called "bot-farms" in conducting the special information operations against our country in line of orders of the Russian intelligence services.

During the searches in the offenders’ office and residences, the law enforcers established the software and hardware complexes, the server equipment, the computer equipment and over 50,000 cards of mobile operators from different countries involved in the hacker attacks. The pre-trial investigation in the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated under Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is under way.
