SBU: Sokolov admits his involvement in preparing terrorist attacks
Today the Russian media disseminated the letter of the expert of the Federal Information Centre "Analytics and Security" Serhyi Sokolov, who was detained by the FSB headship after uncovering the special operation on preparing a range of terrorist acts on the critical infrastructure facilities in Moscow, Kurchatov, Togliatti and Kursk (Russia).
Sokolov admitted and actually assumes the responsibility for organizing the anti-Ukrainian provocation in the letter:
The SBU is convinced that the FSB allowed sending and publishing of the Sokolov's “open letter” in Russian media for distancing from the unsuccessful special operation, documented by the Ukraine’s Security Service. We would remind that the SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak in August 2017 on the briefing said that the Russia’s secret services developed the operation on discrediting Ukraine involving the “former” ATO combatant. The SBU investigators and operatives collected enough evidence proving the fact that the provocation was planned and organized by the FSB. The SBU identified the names of the certain individuals who managed the actions of Sokolov, including the close relative of one of the members of the Committee of the Federal Council on Defense and Security. The testimony of the direct participants in these events and the material evidence give all reasons to consider that this special operation of the Russian secret services could become the reason for the open armed invasion of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine. In fact, this is the analogy of the events of 1999 when the subversion of residential buildings in Moscow organized by the FSB became the reason for setting up a new military campaign in Chechnya.
After publishing by the SBU a part of the uncontested evidence and acquainting the lawyers with the materials of the completed criminal proceeding, the Russian secret services conducted the demonstrative detention of the expert of the Federal Information Centre “Analytics and Security” Serhyi Sokolov and the head of this structure Ruslan Milchenko for covering their personal “failure”.
The SBU will continue to inform the civil society about the uncovered facts of the provocations of Russian secret services against our state.
