SBU detains so-called “Member of Parliament” of “LNR” terrorist organization
SBU officers involved in the Joint Forces Operation detained a so-called “Member of Parliament” of the “LNR” terrorist organization in Lugansk region.
Law enforcers found that in 2014 a resident of Khrustalny, Lugansk region, joined terrorists and “was elected a deputy” of the so-called “People's Council”. Special service operatives documented that the attacker supported Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and contributed to the terrorist activities of illegal armed groups, in particular, being involved in financing some of the units.
According to the intelligence service, a representative of the so-called “authorities” planned to arrive to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities to receive a pension payment from Ukraine.
SBU officers detained an attacker at one of the checkpoints while crossing the separation line.
The detainee was served notices of suspicion in committing the crime, receiving custody as a measure of restraint.
Investigations are ongoing within the framework of criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 Article 109, Part 2 Article 110 and Part 1 Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
