SBU shuts down illegal passenger transportation from temporarily occupied territories
SBU officers in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office shut down the illegal passenger transportation through the border of the temporarily uncontrolled territory of Luhansk region.
The SBU operatives established that the residents of Luhansk region organized the illegal business. The offenders provided the departure of buses through the closed “Izvarine” border crossing point on the uncontrolled area of the Ukrainian-Russian border. Afterwards, the means of transport entered our country from Russia through the BCPs in Kharkiv region and travelled to Kyiv.
The SBU officers detained the buses of the illegal carrier in the “Goptivka” checkpoint and in the capital.
One of the participants of the unlawful business has been served a notice of suspicion in committing the crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a measure of restraint in the form of custody was chosen.
Three buses used by the offenders were seized.
Urgent investigative actions are under way.
