The European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) experts provide advisory help for the SBU specialists while drafting the concept of the SBU reform.

The principal aim of the reform is the creation of a European standard special service in accordance with the EU and NATO standards and criteria.

Three meetings with the EUAM experts were held during this week. The parties discussed the ways of improving the special check system for citizens in view of gaining access to restricted data, practice of collecting evidence of economic crimes and returning the illegally withdrawn financial assets, harmonization of forensic examinations, particularly the DNA analysis, with the European standards using the example of the experience gained by appropriate offices in the Republic of Poland, Kingdom of Sweden and Great Britain.

The SBU specialists also informed the EUAM representatives about the developments in the area of national security, especially in the ATO region.
